National Eczema Awareness Month

October is National Eczema Awareness Month. So, in this month’s edition, we will be providing you with an overview of this troublesome skin condition and provide information on what you can do, if you are struggling with symptoms of dry, red, and itchy skin rashes.

Eczema is the name for a group of conditions that cause the skin to become itchy, dry, and inflamed. The term Eczema and Dermatitis are often used interchangeably. Dermatitis, however, is a broader term and means inflammation of the skin.

There are several distinct types of eczema and dermatitis, and to complicate matters further, it is possible to have more than one type. While eczema and dermatitis typically cause redness and itching, some types can even cause blistering and peeling of the skin.
