The PRP facial and PRP facelift are two modern cosmetic procedures you may be more familiar with by their alternative names – Dracula facial and Dracula facelift.

Admittedly, they do not sound especially appealing. However, both of these procedures are very exciting and effective treatments for fighting against the adverse effects of ageing.

The reason they are both referred to as Dracula procedures is because of their use of PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, a potent blood component.

In the following post, we will discuss which, if any, is better between these two very similar, but different, treatments.

Although they are similar and both use PRP, the Dracula facelift is different to a Dracula facial because not only does it use the same micro-needling that the facial does, but it also involves the injection of the plasma and a specially-formulated hyaluronic acid filler.

As you will see, though, what’s best for you, will depend on your preference.

Is PRP the same as a “Dracula” procedure?

Yes, the simple and short answer is that a PRP facial is the same as a Dracula facial. A PRP or Dracula facelift, however, is different from a PRP or Dracula facial.

What is the difference between PRP and Dracula facial?

There is no difference between a PRP and a Dracula facial. They are just two different names for the same procedure.

Dracula Facial vs. Dracula Facelift

As we have already noted, these two procedures have a lot of similarities.

However, as they are different types of treatment, you will probably want to know which is best for you. The best way to figure this out is by looking at them both in greater detail.

To help, we are going to first discuss the shared benefits of these procedures, highlight the similarities and then provide an overview of what makes them different.

Benefits of Dracula Facial and Dracula Facelift

The basic benefits of both are more or less the same, and include:

  • Improvements to your skin tone and texture
  • New facial tissue growth stimulation
  • Adds volume to your cheeks
  • Improves and rectifies sun damage
  • Reduces sagging and crepey skin
  • Corrects dark circles you may have under your eyes

Similarities Between Dracula Facial and Dracula Facelift

First things first, let’s look at the similarities with these PRP treatments – both of these treatments use your own blood’s growth factors to enhance the cosmetic appearance, fine lines and wrinkles, texture, tone, and health of the skin on your face.

Everyone has many different growth factors present within platelets.

Your blood is drawn by our expert surgeons who can then process your blood and use a centrifuge to separate the different components of your blood so that we have a high concentration of platelets, in the form of PRP or platelet-rich plasma, free of other blood cells we don’t need, like red blood cells.

As part of both treatments, we then manipulate your platelet-rich plasma (PRP) so that they think you have been injured so that they will then release those powerful and potent growth factors.

Now you understand the similarities, let’s delve deeper to discuss the differences.

Differences Between Dracula Facial Vs Dracula Facelift

For the Dracula Facial, a technique known as micro-needling is used.

This involves using a tiny, microscopic needle to make tiny perforations in your skin that can act as channels that help the growth factors being injected as part of PRP treatment to reach into the deeper layers of your skin where the process of cell growth takes place.

As previously noted, a Dracula facial creates a much smoother skin texture, reduces the size of your pores, and corrects scarring. However, it does not directly affect the volume of your skin.

Aside from the micro-needling and that blood is drawn, there are no real injections involved in a Dracula facial.

Overall, it’s also worth noting that despite its high-quality results, it is more of a superficial treatment than a facelift.

A Dracula facelift uses a combination of your own blood’s growth factors, as above, with hyaluronic acid dermal fillers.

To start the procedure, one of our team will inject those dermal fillers into your face to provide what will act as scaffolding for your growth factors and help improve the overall volume of your face.

We then inject the growth factors into the same places where the dermal fillers were injected to help improve the tone and volume of your face.

Does PRP facial tighten skin?

Yes, that is one of the main benefits of having PRP facials.

As this treatment focuses on promoting and stimulating your body’s natural collagen production, it helps to enhance the overall texture and tone of your skin.

As a result, it helps to thicken and tighten your skin and smooth out the wrinkles and fine lines you want to get rid of.

Does PRP lift the face?

As PRP facials stimulate collagen production and elastin production, they help to thicken and tighten your skin, as we have already noted.

As a result of this, though, because your skin will look tauter and younger, it will also look plumper and more lifted.

Which Treatment Using Platelet Rich Plasma is Best For You?

So, which is best for you?

That comes down to several different factors. For one thing, the difference in cost for a PRP facial compared to a more involved PRP facelift is something you will need to think about.

You also need to think about the results you are looking to achieve from the treatment.

Are you looking to just improve the appearance of your face and skin or are you interested in a more drastic effect?

If you are looking to add significant volume and lift to your face, a PRP facelift will always be the better option.
