Our Ultra LaseMD treatment is an advanced virtually painless laser, with little-to-no downtime.

How Does RF Micro-Needling Work?

During your RF Micro-Needling treatment at Linia Skin Clinic, our skilled practitioners will guide you through each step to ensure a comfortable and effective experience:

Apply a Soothing Serum:
After the treatment, a calming serum or mask is applied to the skin to reduce redness, soothe irritation, and enhance recovery. This step also helps to hydrate and nourish the skin, leaving it feeling refreshed.

Cleanse and Prepare Your Skin:
The treatment begins with a thorough cleansing of your skin to remove any impurities, oils, or makeup. This step ensures that the treatment is performed on a clean surface, maximising its effectiveness and reducing the risk of irritation.

Apply a Numbing Cream:
To ensure your comfort, a topical numbing cream is applied to the treatment area. This cream typically takes 20-30 minutes to take effect, minimising any discomfort during the procedure. Most patients report feeling only a slight tingling or warmth.

Use a Specialised Device:
Our practitioners use a state-of-the-art RF Micro-Needling device equipped with fine, sterile needles. These needles create controlled micro-channels in the skin’s surface, stimulating the body’s natural healing process. Simultaneously, radiofrequency (RF) energy is delivered deep into the skin’s layers. This energy heats the tissue, promoting collagen and elastin production while tightening the skin. The combination of micro-needling and RF energy ensures both immediate and long-term results.

The entire procedure typically takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Most patients describe the sensation as mild discomfort, with no significant pain.

What to Expect After Treatment

Immediate Results:
Right after the treatment, you may notice that your skin looks slightly red or swollen, similar to a mild sunburn. This is a normal reaction and usually subsides within 24-48 hours. Some patients also experience minor dryness or flaking as the skin begins to heal.

Gradual Improvement:
Over the following weeks, your skin will start to show visible improvements. As collagen and elastin production increases, you’ll notice your skin becoming smoother, firmer, and more radiant. Fine lines and wrinkles will appear reduced, while acne scars and uneven texture will gradually fade. The full results typically become apparent within 4-6 weeks after the treatment.

Long-Lasting Effects:
With a course of 3-6 treatments, spaced 4-6 weeks apart, the results of RF Micro-Needling can last for 12-18 months or longer. Who Will I See During My Consultation?

Linia’s london-based skin clinic is run by the Medical Director, Dr Simon Zokaie, BSc MBChB MRCP.

Qualifying from the University of Manchester in 2003, he then underwent his medical training in London. He gained membership to the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and subsequently spent over four years training in dermatology.

He has practised cosmetic dermatology since and offers his patients a variety of non and minimally invasive treatments to improve the appearance of their skin and to minimise the visible effects of premature skin ageing.

Dr Zokaie will listen to your needs during the consultation and, depending on the best course of action for you, will recommend a suitable treatment. These may include but aren’t limited to topical products, anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers to add volume to parts of the skin, including the lips and cheeks, and lasers, which tighten the skin on the face, jawline and submental area to smooth away wrinkles.

Dr Zokaie is passionate about standards in his practice and ensuring that he is at the forefront of the latest and most effective methods. Along with his day-to-day skin clinic work, he also attends as many conferences and meetings as he can.
