How Does HIFU Treatment Work?

The process is simple, we use high intensity focused ultrasound to improve the elasticity of your skin, helping to tighten areas that are loose and lift areas that are heavy (such as sagging eyelids).

Does HI FU Treatment Hurt?

As it is a non-surgical and non-invasive procedure with little to no downtime, which means you are able to get back to your normal life.

Whether it actually hurts or not, depends on the individual receiving the process. The majority of people are able to tolerate it well enough.

If you are one of the rare clients who have an exceptionally low pain threshold, you can take paracetamol or another painkiller to reduce the level of discomfort.
It’s worth noting that any discomfort or pain you are likely to experience during the HIFU treatment will be temporary and not be sustained after the process has been completed.

Afterwards, clients can develop a tingling feeling, swelling or redness in their face after treatment.

Again, these are not permanent symptoms and will fade within a few hours following treatment.

How Many HI FU Treatment Sessions Will I Need?

We have found that the majority of our clients only require one session of HIFU treatment.

However, we would recommend that you discuss the treatment plan with your surgeon, as it can depend on the effectiveness of your body’s natural ability to produce collagen, its biological response to the use of ultrasound energy and the level of laxity your skin has.

In some cases, therefore, you may need to attend another appointment 4 weeks after the first one.

How Long Before You See Results of HIFU Treatment?

Again, it will depend on the individual, but generally the results of this procedure are visible at any time between 6 and 12 weeks, with even greater improvements occurring around 6 months after your first session.

There have been some clients who have experienced long lasting results of this procedure that are still visible after 2 years since their initial session.

As your body and skin continues to age, it may be a good idea to book additional touch-up sessions on an annual basis to help stay on top of the body’s natural deaging speed and process.

What’s the Cost of HIFU Treatment?

The cost of your HIFU treatment will depend on where you are planning on having the procedure carried out.

We offer treatments for Neck, Half Face, Full Face and also the combination of Full Face and Neck.

Who Will I See During My Consultation?

Linia’s london-based skin clinic is run by the Medical Director, Dr Simon Zokaie, BSc MBChB MRCP.

Qualifying from the University of Manchester in 2003, he then underwent his medical training in London. He gained membership to the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and subsequently spent over four years training in dermatology.

He has practised cosmetic dermatology since and offers his patients a variety of non and minimally invasive treatments to improve the appearance of their skin and to minimise the visible effects of premature skin ageing.

Dr Zokaie will listen to your needs during the consultation and, depending on the best course of action for you, will recommend a suitable treatment. These may include but aren’t limited to topical products, anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers to add volume to parts of the skin, including the lips and cheeks, and lasers, which tighten the skin on the face, jawline and submental area to smooth away wrinkles.

Dr Zokaie is passionate about standards in his practice and ensuring that he is at the forefront of the latest and most effective methods. Along with his day-to-day skin clinic work, he also attends as many conferences and meetings as he can.
