How Long Will My Lip Fillers Last?

This will depend on a number of factors such as age and individual speed that the patient metabolises the filler. On average, results last around 6 months and is when patients are recommended to come back for their next enhancement if they wish to keep up the desired size.

What Happens to My Lips When The Filler Is Gone?

Some people are under the impression that once their lip fillers have dissipated, that the area will look deflated or sag once the enhancement wears off. This, however, is not true.

As fillers slowly disappear, your lips will return to their pre-treatment condition, but they will not become less voluminous.

Bear in mind that your lips will naturally become slightly thinner with age. For example, if you were to have continuous lip enhancement over a number of years and suddenly stopped, you may see the natural thinning that would have occurred in that time period.

Does Any Damage Occur To The Lips From Enhancement?

Lip enhancement will not damage the existing tissue in your lips; the filler simply provides an increase in volume by interspersing within the fibers and cells already present.

What If I Don’t Like The Result?

We’ll thoroughly discuss and get an idea of the look you’re going for in your consultation, so the chances of this happening are very rare.

However, on the off chance that you are unhappy with the result of your enhancement, your dermatologist can inject an enzyme to dissolve the filler in five minutes and safely return your lips to their original state.

Who Will I See During My Consultation?

Linia’s london-based skin clinic is run by the Medical Director, Dr Simon Zokaie, BSc MBChB MRCP.

Qualifying from the University of Manchester in 2003, he then underwent his medical training in London. He gained membership to the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP) and subsequently spent over four years training in dermatology.

He has practised cosmetic dermatology since and offers his patients a variety of non and minimally invasive treatments to improve the appearance of their skin and to minimise the visible effects of premature skin ageing.

Dr Zokaie will listen to your needs during the consultation and, depending on the best course of action for you, will recommend a suitable treatment. These may include but aren’t limited to topical products, anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers to add volume to parts of the skin, including the lips and cheeks, and lasers, which tighten the skin on the face, jawline and submental area to smooth away wrinkles.

Dr Zokaie is passionate about standards in his practice and ensuring that he is at the forefront of the latest and most effective methods. Along with his day-to-day skin clinic work, he also attends as many conferences and meetings as he can.
