Are you insecure and self-conscious about the unpleasant saggy and loose skin you have started to notice? You may have explored and wondered what the cost of a thread lift is (and is it the price worth it?)
Although ageing skin is a very natural occurrence and something that happens to us all, that doesn’t make it any easier to get up and face the day when the woman (or man) staring back at you does not look as youthful and full of energy as you may feel inside.
It can also really knock your self-esteem and stop you from feeling that burst of energy you once had.
In the past, solving this problem and reversing the signs of ageing, even slightly, involved intensive surgery in the form of a facelift (see our guide on a facelift vs thread lift).

While that may be good for some people, if you have always been nervous, scared or just put off by the idea of a surgeon cutting at your skin, lifting, pulling, and tightening it before reattaching it, we understand and there is no pressure to have that kind of work done.
Particularly as there are alternatives that are minimally invasive, like thread lifts.
Thread lifts are non-surgical facelifts that involve fine threads being inserted into your skin and pulled to tighten it, while also encouraging your body to produce collagen.
You can find out more in our ultimate guide – What are Thread Lifts
If you are considering this procedure, you may be wondering two things – how much does a thread lift cost and whether it worth it or not?
In the following post, we are going to provide answers to both of those questions.
Are thread lifts worth the money?
Thread lifts, as you are probably aware, are incredibly popular and a great way, that’s minimally invasive, of reversing some of the depressing signs of ageing.
You may be thinking that’s marketing blurb. But, it is true that thread lifts are an alternative, effective form of treatment that allows you to have a different option to go under the knife if that doesn’t sound appealing to you.
Not only are thread lifts less intensive and invasive than traditional neck lifts and facelifts, but they are also very affordable.
As ever when it comes to whether you should choose one procedure over another you need to way up the benefits and the downsides and what is best for you.

There has even a lot of evidence to suggest that PDO thread lifts in particular can offer you long-lasting results.
While these are not likely to be as permanent as a facelift, and they can’t stop the ageing process, depending on how well your skin responds to the treatment and what age you are, it might be just enough to give you a few more years with a more refined and youthful appearance by tightening and toning up your skin and reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
How much is a thread lift in the UK?
When looking at the cost of a thread lift in the UK, you need to consider the different types of thread lift treatments that are available.
From as low as £250 to upwards of £1950, the overall cost depends on both where you have the treatment and the specific type, whether it’s:
- PDO thread rejuvenation
- PDO Cog Threads
- or the more expensive but effective Non-PDO Thread Lift

PDO Thread Rejuvenation
This procedure involves the use of dissolvable sutures to achieve the lifting, pulling, and tightening of your skin to stop it from sagging.
It is a lot cheaper and quicker than facelift surgery but doesn’t produce as long-lasting results and the results it does produce are subtler.
As it does not involve any surgery, though, the amount of recovery required is very little, with most patients being allowed to continue working and carry on with their daily activities immediately after having the procedure.
- Under Lower Lip – £250
- Above Upper and Under Lower Lip – £500
- PDO Under Chin – £300
- ODI Under Chin and Upper Neck – £600
- PDO Cheeks – £600
- PDO Cheeks Plus – £700
PDO Cog Threads
PDO Cog Threads are a specific type of thread used to lift and correct sags and wrinkles in different parts of the face and neck.
For instance, when used in your cheeks, they lift and tighten the skin to reduce and remove nasolabial folds, along your jawline they are used to reduce the prominence of jowls and in the neck to reduce general sagginess.
- Jowl Lift – from £850
- Neck Lift – from £850
- Face Lift – from £1250
- Face and Neck Lift – from £1750
- Additional PDO Cog Threads (Per Thread) – £300
Non-PDO Thread Lift
Although similar to the other procedures, they do not involve the same material being used.
- Jowl Lift – from £1950
- Face Lift – from £1950
Which is better value for money – fillers or thread lifts?
Although the choice of whether to have fillers or thread lifts is entirely up to you, we can give you our opinion. Compared to fillers, threads don’t add volume to the area being treated.
They are just used to add more definition and generally enhance the structure of the treated area.
This essentially means that if you have a bulbous or wider than the normal nose, thread lifts are likely to be your best option.
With them, the plastic surgeon can lift and sculpt the tip of your nose without making them any larger.
Instead, they will simply sculpt them into a slimmer and more aesthetically appealing shape and size.
Should You Have a Thread Lift?
The final question you need to ask yourself about thread lifts is whether or not you should have them.
As long as you realise they are not going to produce long-lasting and even permanent results and that you may need to top up the treatment at some point in the future, but also get the benefit of a non-surgical solution, they are a great choice.
